Bettie "Carole" Gurganus Edmondson, 83 of Fort St., died Monday, October 26, 2020 at Autumn Care of Nash.

Mrs. Edmondson was born in Martin County on June 15, 1937 to the late William "Leslie" and Louise Peed Gurganus. She was an accounting supervisor with Poyner & Spruill in Rocky Mount and a member of Proctors Chapel Baptist Church. She had received Woman of the year and was a member of the Shrinettes and Financial Women's International.

Survivors include; husband, Billy Edmondson of the home; sons, Gary Lane Edmondson (Carol) of Newport News, VA and William Anthony "Tony" Edmondson (Heidi) of Aurora; daughters, Pamela Carole Perry (Alan Elmore) of Williamston and Amy Michele Hancock (Robert) of Wendell, brothers, Kenneth Gurganus (Janice) of Greenville and Bob Gurganus (Louise) of Winterville; sister, Malissia Gurganus of Williamston; grandchildren, Chad Edmondson, Casey Farmer, Eli Edmondson, Naomi Edmondson, Noah Hancock and Mackenzie Hancock; great grandchildren, Easton Edmondson, Camden Edmondson and Bastian Hancock.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 2:00 PM at Martin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Walter Cooper officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
