Barbara Riddick Bowen, 89, of NC Hwy 561 West, died Sunday, December 5, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  She was born May 28. 1932 to the late James Thomas and May Belle Jenkins Riddick and predeceased by her husband, Glenwood Franklin Bowen and a daughter, Donna Bowen Howell. Barbara was a Methodist, homemaker, a dedicated mother and enjoyed helping with the family businesses.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. NC. Rev. Douglas Van Niel will officiate.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Bowen Newell and husband John of Wilmington; sister, Carolyn R. Wooten, and husband Ed of Clemmons-Lewisville; grandchildren, Jake Newell and wife Allison, Ben Newell, Nichole Howell; and many loving nieces and nephews.
