Ms. Audrey Garrett Waters, age 86, a resident of Salemburg, NC, and a native of Plymouth, NC passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Home, Williamston. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth. Pastor Marty Swinson will be officiating the service. The following will serve as pallbearers: Daniel West, Cameron West, Josh Waters, Randy Wilkins, Emmet Leahy, Ricky Yanuzzi, and Brandt West as alternate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home and other times at the home of Kevin and Patricia Waters.
Ms. Audrey was born June 15, 1938 in Plymouth NC to Aubrey Garrett and Eva Biggs Garrett. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and later received her Nursing degree, on November 27, 1955 she married the love of her life Joe Gray Waters. Miss Audrey worked at Washington County Hospital for 15 years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by two sisters: Inez Tetterton and Judy Benedetto, two brothers: Jack Leary and Bill Leary. Survivors include: Ms. Audrey's daughter, Audrey Jo West and husband Danny West of Wilmington, their children and grandchildren: Daniel and wife Jessica West, and sons: Brandt and Wyatt West, daughter Lauren and husband Emmet Leahy, and son Bruce and wife Kristen West, and their children: Luke and Tate West; Ms. Audrey's son Keith and wife Carolyn Waters of Salemburg, who have been her caregivers in recent years, and their children: Josh and Natalie Waters, and children: Lilly and Liam Waters, their daughter Taylor and husband Randy Wilkins, and baby Rileigh; Ms. Audrey's son Kevin and wife Patricia Waters of Williamston, and their children: Calia, Karlee, and Taylor and husband John Trovato, also surviving is Ms. Audrey's sister Marie, and husband Richie Yanuzzi of Delaware.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, the donor plant a tree in Ms. Audrey's honor.
