Annie Mae Jernigan Hill, 99, of Colerain, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on December 25, 2025, while residing at Three Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center in Windsor, NC.

Born on September 25, 1926, in Bertie County, North Carolina, Annie Mae was the daughter of George P. Jernigan and Melissa White Jernigan, both of Colerain. She spent her life rooted in Bertie County, where she was known for her quiet strength, faithfulness, and love for family.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Garner Ray Hill, as well as two sisters and two brothers.

She was a faithful member of Askewville Assembly of God, where her love for the Lord and commitment to her church family were evident throughout her life.

Annie Mae found great joy in gardening and quilting, hobbies that reflected her nurturing spirit and creative hands. She took pride in caring for her home and family, and her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving children: Turnage Hill (Daisy), Wayne Hill (Mary Beth), Randy Hill (Julie), Cenith Davis (Gerald), Betty Slaughter (Arthur), and Bonnie Newcomb (John).
She is also survived by her sisters: Nettie White, Ruby White, and Virgie Mizelle.

Annie Mae leaves behind a large and cherished family, including 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy to her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Three Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Annie Mae during the last year of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastors Randy Pierce, Webb Hoggard, and Roger Leggett officiating. Music will be provided by Carol Pierce and Doug Bazemore. Pallbearers will be Michael Poston, Joe Slaughter, Ronnie Bland, Devon Hill, Michael Hill, and Blake Hill.
Burial will follow at the White Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
