It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Ms. Annie Pearl Jernigan, who departed this life on August 9, 2026, at Ahoskie Health & Rehab.

Ms. Annie was born Annie Pearl Jernigan on August 13, 1929, to Lola Mae Jernigan Jernigan and Henry Lacy Jernigan. After her schooling she later married Carlie Winwood Jernigan on November 12, 1949, and they spent most of their lives together in the Colerain area. Ms. Annie was a seamstress with Blue Bell Clothing Company and a faithful member of Askewville Bethel Assembly of God, until her health no longer permitted. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and canning.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Annie was preceded in death by one son, Henry Jernigan, one sister, Lena Mae Hoggard, and two brothers: Bobby and Alvis Jernigan. Those left to cherish her memory include her surviving son, Scotty Winwood Jeringan (Margie) of Bullock, NC; two brothers: Billy Frank Jernigan of Windsor, and Joseph B. Jernigan of Colerain; also surviving are four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday August 12, 2026, at Edgewood Cemetery with Pastor Randy Pierce officiating. Ms. Annie will be laid to rest beside her husband Carlie.  The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
