Anna White Jernigan, 88, of Bertie County, North Carolina, passed away at her home on October 1, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Born on June 15, 1938, in Bertie County, Anna White Jernigan was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend whose life was deeply rooted in family. Her passing brings sorrow to those who knew and loved her, while also calling to mind a life that will be cherished with gratitude and affection.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jernigan. She was also preceded in death by her father, Livingston White, Sr.; her mother, Lina Copeland White; her sisters, Carolyn White White and Dorothy Jernigan; and her brother, Livingston White, Jr.

Anna leaves behind a devoted family who will carry her memory forward with love. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Jernigan White and her husband Greg, Amy Jernigan Hoggard and her husband Glenn, and Bobbie Lynn White and her husband Willie, all of Askewville. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rosie Jernigan, and her brother-in-law, T.J. Jernigan, Sr.

Her love extended through the generations to her grandchildren, Bobby Byrum and his wife Jennifer, Jimmy Byrum, Christopher Hoggard and his wife Brooke, Simon Hoggard and his wife Allyssa, and Dallas and his wife Taylor. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Kenley Byrum, Aaron Byrum, Nelson Byrum, Hunter Eason, and Jackson Hoggard. In each of them, her family will continue to see the lasting imprint of her life and love.

A graveside service will be held on October 4, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Edgewood Cemetery, 406 US 13 HWY N, Windsor, North Carolina 27983 with Pastor Bobby Byrum officiating.  The family will receive friends at the home of Bobbie Lynn and Willie White, 142 E. Askewville, Windsor, NC  27983

Anna White Jernigan will be remembered with tenderness and love by all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and in the generations that follow.

She loved Jesus first and foremost, her husband was her one and only love. and is finally reunited with him. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life long member of Askewville Baptist Church and her family stated she found much pleasure in listening to gospel music
