Mrs. Alice Henry Wilson, a longtime resident of Newsome Grove Road, Ahoskie passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning August 21, 2024 at Ahoskie Health and Rehab after a lengthy illness.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 24, 2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery, 2517 NC-45, Colerain, NC 27924 with Chaplain Steve Shanks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home.

Mrs. Alice was born December 8,1942 in Colerain to Catherine Isabel Perry Henry and Lee Stanley Henry. After her formal education and first marriage, she later married the love of her life, Hallet Allen Wilson on April 9, 1987. She worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FHA) until her retirement in 1994. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and an active member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church, who loved gardening, raising flowers, the water, and especially the beach, river, and mountains.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one daughter, Donna Rhea, and one brother, Patrick Henry. Survivors in addition to her husband include: one son, Nicholas Wilson and his wife Melissa of Zebulon, NC, one brother, Lynn Henry and his wife Rose of Southport, and one sister-inlaw, Mildred Henry of Hertford, NC. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Joseph Baines, Ashley Madry, Jackson Wilson, Lauren Wilson, and three great grandchildren: Hunter, Robbie, and Weston.
