Dateline: Windsor, NC.

Ms. Alice Glyda Cobb Hoggard, a resident of Askewville-Mizelle St. died peacefully Saturday morning at her residence after a long illness.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Askewville Baptist Church with Pastor Freddie Harris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church, and other times at the home. A private burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery at a later date.

Ms. Alice was born on December 1, 1943 to the late William Robert Cobb, Jr., and Glida Clara Perry Cobb. She was a graduate of Bertie County Schools, and later married William Irvin 'Bill' Hoggard who preceded her in death. She and Bill made their home in Askewville where she was homemaker, and an active member of Askewville Baptist Church. Ms. Alice was a member of W.M.U. and was the head leader of the community cooking committee. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her two sons, Stacy O. Hoggard (Bonnie) of Askewville, and W. Michael Hoggard (Kelly) of Williamston; Grandchildren: Aaron Hoggard (Samantha), Matthew G. Hoggard (Amanda), Tristen "Scoop" Hoggard and fiance' Timberly, Rachel Hoggard, Christopher Hoggard; Great Grandchildren: Sawyer Hoggard, and Saylor Hoggard.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at ECU Beaufort Hospital, ECU Health Greenville C- I.C.U. and ECU Home Health/Hospice. And a very special thanks to her cousin, Betty Lou Constable for all her loving care and attention.
