Josephine Lassiter Modlin, 88, a resident of Greenfield Place in Greenville, died Sunday June 3, 2012. She was born in Bertie County on May 25, 1924 to the late John Archie and Clara Martin Lassiter and was predeceased by her husband, Bertran Modlin; brothers, William Jordan and Robert Earl Lassiter and a sister, Cleo Harden. Josephine was a retired clerk at Pittman’s Grocery Store and a member of Lewiston Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday June 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery by the Rev. Lloyd Dunlow.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews who will receive friends following the service.
