Evie Castelloe White 82, of US 13-17 South, died Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She was born in Bertie County on May 2, 1930 to the late John Thomas and Lula Miller Castelloe and was predeceased by her husband, Dalton R. White; sisters, Helen Cobb, Janice Cowan, Faye Bass; brothers, Woodrow, Fred and Rudolph Castelloe. Evie was a member of Cashie Baptist Church where she was a member of the bereavement cooking committee. She loved the river,watching her grandchildren’s ballgames and cooking for her family.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 31, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Cashie Baptist Church by Dr. Carroll Tarkington. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Phillis W. Leggett and husband, Gilbert of Windsor; son, David White and wife Ann of Southern Pines; brother, J. T. Castelloe, Jr. and wife Shirley of Hampton, VA; grandchildren; D. G. Conner, Renee Roberson and husband Mickey, Shane Leggett all of Windsor, Cara Herring and husband Will of Garner, Dave and Michael White of Southern Pines; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7- 8:30 PM Thursday, August 30th at Walker Funeral Home and at other times from the home. Memorial gifts may be made to Cashie Baptist Church, 221 S. Queen Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
