Gordon Slade Peele, 72, of Smithwick Creek Church Road, died Friday May 18, 2012 at his home. He was born in Martin County on May 26, 1939 to the late George Edwin and Lillian Capps Peele and was predeceased by a brother, Grimes Peele and a sister, Mandy Lou Peele. Gordon was a retired service technician with Sears. He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 20, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Macedonia Christian Church by the Rev. Greg Sexton and Rev. Dolan Baker. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife Marcia Speller Peele of the home; daughters, Sherrie P. Varney and husband Daryl of Sims; Terry Roberson and Wendy Moore both of Williamston; sisters, Gladys Tice of Greenville, Lucy Wynne of Williamston; "Pa's" grandchildren, Tanner Moore, Leah Moore, Kaylee Varney, Thomas Roberson.

The family will receive friends at Macedonia Christian Church from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM prior to the service on Sunday May 20th. Memorial gifts may be made to Macedonia Christian Church, 7640 US Hwy 17, Williamston, NC 27892.
